Slate.com's Seth Stevenson (of Ad Report Card fame) tackles stock footage and what it means in a really interesting piece on Getty Images (stock footage, video). The company really does a lot of research trying to figure out what companies and individuals are going to be looking for with the rise and fall of search terms that users enter into their site. The article is a good read that ends with the story of the Everywhere Girl, who, for a brief time a couple of years ago, was everywhere. The mystery of how she got to be the Everywhere Girl is never explained, however.
