Slate magazine's adcritic Seth Stevenson has an entertaining wrapup of this year's Clio Awards, which celebrate great advertising worldwide. There's a bit of analysis, some nice color coverage of the event and plenty of examples (some pretty racy and graphic), including this staged-spontaneous group performance art event for T-Mobile: Definitely something inauthentic about staging a spontaneous group-performance, especially since it imitates "real" events like this, but it isn't any less fun than dancin' in the streets in a Blue's Brothers movie or a Bollywood flick I suppose. Showing "real" people using their mobile phones after the event is a nice touch, but how can we be sure they aren't actors too?
