altSony is committing significant resources towards the move to 3D, they have just announced the release of a new camera to do just that.

The details are sketchy like most things when first announced but the big unveiling will be at the CETEC show this year. The few details can sadly be summed up almost in the title to this announcement, but here is what we have so far; CMOS sensors, two lenses and capable of shooting at 24fps. Size and weight come in average at 240x200x480mm and weighs in at 18 kg, Sony is apparently gearing this camera toward fast action sporting events.
