Samsung's Instinct HD (via Sprint) is the first mainstream phone to shoot 720p HD video. Reviews suggest that the quality is not as good as the Flip MinoHD or other dedicated pocket mini-cams, but still: imagine having a decent video camera with you wherever you go?! The phone itself looks like a pretty standard modern 3G phone with all of the obscenely cool things that go with that, including Internet and GPS, but it also has some newer features, like WiFi and the ability to watch live television via Sprint TV. Don't ask me if all of this is worth $250 (after rebate) with a two year contract at $70/month - I'm still a mobile phone luddite who only uses his phone to call people, but I'll admit that if I had money and leisure time, this phone would be on my short list. I have no idea how editable the video is (i.e., Who knows what tweaks Samsung has made to the H.264 video?), but I'm sure there's some sort of automatic YouTube sharing service software you can use. And while the HD video certainly blows away the pathetic SD video shot by a certain other fruity mobile phone, I doubt professional videographers will snap up Samsung's Instinct HD, brag about it on their blogs or build mini-steadicam flying mounts for it.
