99% of why I like this keyboard is because I'm a keyboard freak, but if I had to justify it, you could set it up to highlight the shortcut keys in your favorite editing app. At $129, it's definitely cooler that putting stickers on your current 'board, but, ultimately, it's just a gimmick. I still want one. Call it a Poor Man's Optimus Maximus if you must, but I'll take this and the $1,600 savings anyday.

This thread discusses the Content article: Luxeed LED Keyboard

When I built my film transfer system, I wanted it pimped out with lots of cool blue LED's and a light up keyboard. It's a Saitek that doesn't illuminate the glyphs on the keys, rather it illuminates the gaps between. Still a neat effect.

After all this customization, I learned that all these lights were just glare engines for the film transfer system's giant condenser lens. So I have to have a lot of that stuff turned off when I run film.

I'm still not discouraged in my search for zanier and zanier keyboards. I liked this one since I'd first seen it. If I were a club DJ, I would insist on one of these disco-floor keyboard. I wonder how long before someone builds it into a laptop?
